what cordage to use for stuff sack?

What cordage do people use for stuff sacks? I think 550 paracord would be too bulky; Zing-It seems like it'd be overkill as a drawstring. Braided mason line is cheap, but thin, and tangles easily. In a tutorial, Tac Blades used a UK product called Cub Cord (2mm), which looks like it'd do the trick, especially since it comes in a variety of colors. Is there a US-equivalent?

What's a good, inexpensive cord to use? Thanks.

Just about any cord in the 2-3MM rang is good...3/32-1/8" We use the smaller size for small stuff sacks and larger cord for bigger ones...like on quilts that need a little more muscle to them. For my personal stuff sacks I put on our Glow cord or reflective draw cords to help me find them in the dark.

I really like the 1.5mm cord from RSBTR coupled with a mini cordlock:

    https://ripstopbytheroll.com/collect...5-mm-mini-cord

    https://ripstopbytheroll.com/collect.../mini-cordlock

It's just slightly stiff which makes it easier to thread, but not so stiff that it resists being scrunched up.

I've also used the 2mm utility cord from REI, just because I can run to the store and get some right when I need it, and I usually have a hank in my pack for "just in case I need it line":

    https://www.rei.com/product/716685/pmi-utility-cord-2mm

I've learned to avoid the lines with reflective tracers as the reflective part seems to eat at the channel on light materials and it isn't smooth cinching and un-cinching.

I haven't tried zing-it, but I agree that seems like overkill, and I'm not even sure how well cordlocks would work on it.

Type 1 paracord comes to mind. ~1.85mm and very inexpensive.

I used paracord on mine because I had miles of it laying around. I gutted it first, though. It's a little bulky, but I prefer not to use cord locks if I can get away with it, and it holds a knot pretty well. A slippery half hitch seals up my stuff sacks sufficiently.

Mostly standard paracord, with a button knot tied as a stopper. Works a treat, and I've got more than I'll ever use up already on hand.

I have liked gutted paracord for larger sacks. With it gutted it can be flattened and I sew through it in the middle so an end won't get pulled through the channel. That way you don't need a cord lock or stopper knot, you can tie it closed with whatever knot you like, usually a simple overhand knot is sufficient.

I used zing-it with tiny cord locks (from zpacks) for hammock double ended sacks. More recently I used 1.25 zline for the ends of a one piece mesh tarp skin. I haven't tried it yet but I imagine Dutch Wire would also work well.

Another vote for paracord. Either gutted 550 or the smaller stuff like markr6 mentioned. The stuff I use it think was sold as mini or micro paracord. I mostly use it because I have a bunch and it works though, not necessarily because it's the 'best' option.

I like zingit. It may be overkill, but if I need line and I'm in a pinch, I know where to harvest it from.
