    Widerstand,
I see you're big into trains? ...... lets see some of your hangs while riding the rails!

back when I was in the usaf and was aircrew in a c130 herc I'd tie up my hammock across the back ramp on long missions (and short ones). wish I had some photos of that ......

I have an ENO double that gets a fair amount of use, outside of swapping out suspension (whoopie slings for me) and adding a ridge line I don't think they need much modding. One of the advantages is how small and light it is. Maybe a pad sleeve if you use a pad. Don't remember seeing anyone that has added one though.

The Navy's P3's use to have a hammock in the tail section. Pretty sure I still have a photo of a skinner Hawk-eye in one ... Need to find that

Well yeah! Most y'all probably don't know this but a growing number of train riders are getting those cheap net hammocks cause the walls of boxcars have tie-down points that are perfect for a hammock and doing so gets you up off that cold unforgiving steel.

I was searching online for a better hammock to use when train hopping, found Shugs videos, and here I am.

I also hike and stuff but trains are number one for me.

I have a friend that's a former Ringling Bros. circus clown and lived on the train for years! I went to visit a few times .... oh boy is that an interesting lifestyle, for sure!

(sorry, but I think we (I) hijacked your thread ......)

I have a new TrekLight Double in camo. Purchased a WarBonnet hammock ridgeline/webbing suspension kit from Opie (who didn't need it), removed the OEM suspension system from the TL (rope and carabiner system), and installed the WB suspension.

I now have a TL Dbl, with a structural ridgeline, and adjustable webbing suspension system.

Wow, I didn't know that train hopping was still a common practice. I think that's fantastic....

Regarding the OP, I think there are only a few mods that an ENO really needs. One is a change to a low bulk adjustable suspension (whoopie sling or UCR) and the other is a structural ridgeline. Both are easy and quick mods. Outside of that, ENO's are very straightforward and comfortable hammocks for almost any situation.

A certain pilot I know used that same hammock to cradle a floor clock he bought in Spain and smuggled back home! Rank has privaliages!

I mentioned that to him years after the fact and he just smiled and said he was sure the crew would have fragged him over the Atlantic for hogging the hammock!

I don't want to stray to far from the topic at hand here of Eno Mods but here are some photos of a not to safe hammock setup in a suicide well-car.
