Double Hammock Help!

Howdy all. I have been in the hammock game for a few years now and have only recently convinced my wife to give it a go. She recently saw the new Chameleon system that Dutch is coming out with and has fallen in love with the "Double-Hammock" hanging off of the same two trees idea. I know there are a few ways to accomplish this, but where my question for this thread rests is with regards to the hardware for using spreader bars. Can I use the older Dutch Cinch Bugs with a spreader bar the same way that Dutch uses his new Beetles?

I don't believe the holes in the older Cinch Bugs are wide enough to receive the tips of a spreader bar. That said, if you already have a set of Cinch Bugs, you only need one set of the new Beetles to hang two hammocks together, as you'll only be using the spreader bar on one end.

Yes you can use cinch bugs. Splice a double whoopie hook onto 8" cl's. Use these between the bugs and hammock cl. I also have a set of ti cinch buckles set up this way. Just a pointer, if you have ample distance between trees, use dogbones to place the bar outside of the tarp.

EDIT: just reread the op and I believe I misunderstood. I haven't tried the bar in the cinch bugs but I believe the post above is likely correct.

I just order full suspension from Dutch last week. I called him and asked this very thing since I didn't want to wait for the beetles. He said the spreader bar will NOT work with cinch bugs. You will have to use the double hammock whoopie hooks.

Do what Sqid suggests; Dutch Double Whoopie Hooks spliced on continuous loops will allow you to adapt side-by-side hanging with a spreader bar to just about any suspension, including Cinch Bugs.

My wife and I use the Double Dutch Whoopie Hooks with spreader bar. Much less expensive, easy-peasey. We also use simple table cloth hammocks. You can, but don't have to, spend over $400 to hang double. I'd say we spent about $50-60 all told.
