Congrats on the new tarp as I own a SuperFly.

Been in a lot of bad weather including last summer on Isle Royale when a storm blew in at 3:30 a.m. with 50+ mph winds. Had the SuperFly all closed up with the doors crossed and weathered the storm well. I would not want to have to get up and put the doors on.

I simply put the stakes in place every night in case I need them and get up and secure them at that time.

I have 2 MJs and 1 Superfly. I never use the MJs any longer but before the SF, I used and loved them.

I was referring to the pull outs. The ridge line is a French rolled sometime other that doesn't need seam sealing.

Sorry I wasn't more specific about that.

You may want to ask around about that. I was watching a youtube video recently where the back packer thought the same and his tarp leaked badly in a heavy storm on the Pinhoti trail.

    Thanks. I will.

I never have a problem with my Superfly, but maybe the MamaJamba is different.

Seal the ridge line? Not me. I've been using both tarps and there's no way they ever leaked.

Hopefully someone else has seen the video as well and will post the link as it wasn't a pleasant out come but it was a very bad storm as well.

Sealing the pullouts is a good idea. But definitely not the ridgeline.

My new silpoly mamba is sitting at the PO...I should have shipped it home instead of to work (closed today)

SmyK... I just received one of the New old stock MJ's too. If you find the tarp needs to be sealed, will you post it here for the rest of us?
