We bring honeydew melons to eat while we work on the 'honey do' list of projects from the park.

Hey, no one gave me a better name, there it is and it is on!
Wait, YoJimbo came up with "Old Dominion Honeydew Hang" Sounds good to me!
When? April the 7th- the 9th
Where? at James River Campgrounds Branch pond campsite, same as last year. the address of the park is, 104 Green Hill Drive, Gladstone, VA 24553; Latitude, 37.623271. Longitude, -78.809896. branch Pond campsite is on the left, down a long road. I think it is the second left past the gate.

Come one, come all for a rip roaring good time. This is our lead off to a great year here in Virginia. Next will be a "float/paddle/ hang" in the summer, and we shall be talking about that during this hang.
This hang is also our one "project hang," we hang for free and do a project for the park. This year we are doing some trail maintenance to help James River SP get ready for their triathlon on the weekend of the 22nd.
They have already hit us up about any of our members wanting to participate in the triathlon. I'm not calling anyone out but....Sean! sounds like something you would be up for. LOL
Non the less, for the trail work the park asks us to bring good boots and gloves.
However, you do not have to do work to participate in the hang. we do need some folks to stay back and keep an eye on the campsite, fix lunch and dinner or just hang out if you are not up to it. That is fine, I have a bad leg and am somewhat limited myself. Just please let me know, via PM, so that I do factor it into the count when we set up the trail parties.
For those who remember last year, redoing the campground, which we are staying in, I thought we had a grand time saturday afternoon and the campground looked great when we got done with it. I am looking forward to seeing it again this year.
Now, "project aside." There is a great pond there at the site, I am thinking of bringing our new canoe and getting some paddling in. I hear there is good fishing. This park is also known for it's hiking trails.
Please note that there is a "food sign up sheet," see tab below. I shall be Dutch ovening some stuff again this year.
Also, we will be doing a "silent auction" for used gear. This will benefit the "Friends of the park." Any old gear can be pitched in and will be welcome.

Sounds like an awesome time. I'm in....except that running part. I keep telling you - I only run from bears and only when there's someone slower than me.
