    Massdrop top quilt

Saw this today on Massdrop. It looks like a good quilt.

Definitely wide enough for hammock use. I think they had a similar quilt on there a few months ago but it is a little more this time.

Has anyone used a quilt from Massdrop? The description isn't clear but they reference a review by SectionHiker that mentions Enlightened Equipment and Katabatic Gear so it is probably one of those.

It's a stripped down, made for Massdrop version of a Revelation made by Enlightened Equipment.

    Almost.

-There is no zipper to open the quilt flat like a blanket, like on a Rev. It is sewn together in that area.
-It is made with 15D fabric. The Rev is 10D or 20D.
-It is filled with 800fp down. The Rev is 850, 900, 950fp.

The end of the footbox still has a drawstring opening for venting, like a Rev, and it is made by EE.

Exactly. I much prefer the Rev

If it is an EE quilt it is very similar to the Rev but for much less. I think the difference in the down fill power and a possible fabric weight penalty is worth the extra savings.
If I look at it correctly comparing a 20°F regular/wide quilt (wide because the MD version is 58" wide) the total weight penalty and cost is +0.3oz but $85 less. (Seems odd that the Rev would weigh more even with more fill weight of the higher quality down. Maybe something with MD's numbers.) Still, Yes, it is a steal.

The weight difference surprise of the Mass Drop 15D quilt is due to the reduced foot box volume.

If anybody orders one I hope they don't need it until this fall as they don't ship until April 25th.

April is not fall, that month is called August.

These are different than our Revelation in a number of ways. Baffles on this are vertical and not our shiftless U shaped baffles, no zipper (which saves some weight), mostly straight taper (saves weight) on these gives less coverage than the half taper on our normal quilts, not an issue at all in a hammock. It's just a specific set of features put together with Massdrop for their custom quilt, our name was supposed to stay out of it, they didn't sell so the next day they told everyone we made them and they started selling, defeats the purpose if you ask me.

Without your name they wouldn't sell at that price
