    Women-Speciifc Sub forum?

Hey All. I was just wondering if it's ever been discussed/suggested to have a sub-forum specific to women and women's topics? I belong to a women-only AT group on FB, and you definitely get a different perspective that's beneficial. I think it might be worthwhile to have here as well. This isn't meant to exclude men, but just provide a space for women to ask questions that men cannot or may not be able to answer.

    Thoughts?

Not a sub forum but there is a ladies only thread:

I would prefer a sub-forum over a thread. The current Lady Hammockers thread is over 300 pages long. Maybe an admin can speak as to why this isn't a sub-forum already? Or could make one?

Agreed... that thread is way too long and overwhelming to try to weed out a specific topic that you may need. A sub-forum with the ability to post different topics/questions seems like a much easier/streamlined/organized way to go.

I was a HF moderator three years ago on one previous occasion when this was being discussed and suggested that the Lady Hammocker's thread be started to 'test the water'. The decision back than was that the wasn't enough activity to justify it's own forum. While I am not very active on HF at this time, my current impression is that there seems to be many more "Lady" participants on HF than existed three years ago.

This might be a good time for the HF staff to reassess the need for a women's forum, although I'm sure they consider it from time to time with or without a request.

Seems like a good idea to me to try. That one thread has been been around for awhile, showing a consistent request over the years.

Comments like this, even if they're meant good-naturedly, are part of the reason there needs to be a women-only place here. Clueless is no excuse.
