    DIY Wooki

    Hi everyone,

I finished a down Wooki replica recently.

    The specs:

    - fabric: Nylon Taffeta, 38 g/cm^2, 149 x 360 cm (59'' x 141'')
    - maximum length and width of insulated area: 182 x 124 cm (72'' x 49'')
    - 10 baffles (one more than the original), maximum height appr. 3''
    - 11.5 oz down, 860cuin (EU)
    - ends whipped with thin nylon cord, suspended with paracord sheath (head end) and multiple shock cord loops (foot end)
    - total weight: 31.25 oz (stuff sack 0.5 oz)
    - total cost: 150 Euro (fabric 60 Euro, down 90 Euro)
    - manufacturing time: 4 hours cutting, 7 hours sewing, filling and finish (whipping etc.)

The edges of the fabric are lined with red polyester ribbon. I did not want to loose fabric by making a rolled hem.

The insulated area of my replica is a little wider than at the original Wooki and due to its whipping it can be fitted to different hammock lengths easily.

That's really great. Turned out really nice. Color me green with envy.

Nice use of a laser guide. Totally worth it.

That looks amazing. You should be very proud of that.
Great idea on using the laser as a guide....might be copying that idea for my underquilt build!

I did some testing. After some fiddling with the whipping, the quilt fits perfectly now. I have been cosy warm at 35°F, no cold spots at all. I think it will take me down to at least 20°F.

Did you do a width and lengthwise differential? Any tips there?
