We did ccw, 2 night/3 day. This was our first time in this area, clockwise might be a little easier (coming down the Stairway to Heaven instead of going up).
Feb 24-26, 2017, this was what we encountered. Grid coordinates are UTM, datum NAD83. CCW, once you start up Stairway you won't encounter water until 16S 0608018 3697996, elev 2087'. This was our first night campsite, out of the wind somewhat, good water and firewood. From there to the Pin-Chin junction there were some nice campsites and water. Second night campsite, 16S 0604018 3701135, elev 847', was on Skyway trail at Hubbard Creek which had 4 sites with good water & firewood. Both sites we chose were remote and quiet. Hiking out, we passed some nice campsites on the Skyway as it parallels Barbaree Creek for some distance.
The Cheaha Creek water crossing at the Chin-Sky junction was only knee deep, all other crossings were feet dry.

why didn't ya run some shock cord from the edges of the quilt, around the bottom of the pad, and back to the other side of the quilt. It'll keep it snug to the pad.
Thanks.
Great trail description that will definitely be used.
Good times! I have a brand new MSR Hubba sitting in my basement, never used. I keep planning on taking it on a trip sometime but I can't seem to cheat on my hammock
