Been lurking around for about a week. Really stumbled upon hammock camping after roaming around in the Army/Navy Store and then googlin' "jungle hammocks". Since then I have been reading everything around.
Have partially completed my first DIY hammock using some poly fabric and following headchange4u's instructions for a HH copy. As soon as it is completed, will post some pics.

I see a trend happening with a lot of the new members; they've already started or finished their DIY project before they even start posting. Good to see!
Maybe we should start a patch program like the scouts; complete one DIY hammock and get your "Tiger Cub" patch. An overcover gets you a "Wolf" patch, a 3-season tarp gets you a "Bear", and a winter tarp gets you a "Webelo" patch. Packs, clothing, stoves and such move into the more advanced patches. Would be fun!
