I was using a a narrow drawstring bag, but now that I keep my lines attached to my stakes I think I'm going to take a crack at a pencil roll type solution.

I also keep my lines on my stakes. I am very curious about a chunky pencil roll. I'm ready to make an upgrade from the freezer bag that I have been using.

I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.
Jellyfish, this post has got me thinking. I won't be back at home for 2 weeks, but I've got some ideas floating around now. I'd like to do a pencil roll with either a loop of elastic or shock cord inside the roll to bundle up my lines after I figure-8 wrap them. Also I'd like to make a little pocket or potentially include a small zipper pouch with mesh so that I can store my extra guy lines, soft shackles, etc. May even rig up a closure with your favorite, kam snaps.
Thanks for the inspiration!
The lightweight sewn pouches never lasted long for me so I made a small double-ended Tyvek "envelope" sized to fit both my stakes & lines. My guy lines do not stay attached, so I figure-8 them and they go in the other pocket, although this idea would still work if you kept the lines attached to the stakes.
The overall envelope with opposing pockets measures about 2"W x 10"L, so I fold it over between the stakes & lines to make a nice compact package that I roll into my tarp when packing.

I'm currently packing my stakes and hammock suspension in a small drawstring pouch, but I'm thinking about sewing a pouch onto the next snakeskin I make. What is this pencil roll of which you speak?
My stakes came in a tough mesh pencil roll. It's perfect.
Just a cheap nylon sack with room for up to 8 y-stakes (I carry 4), some spare cord (tarp side pullout), and a couple of drip lines.
I love dropping my stakes into my zpacks cuben fiber stuff sack.

Back when I carried a tyvek ground cloth, I stitched button holes in the corners (to stake it down with sticks) and sewed a spot on it for stakes. I essentially folded it up like a pencil roll. Nowadays, I use a cuben stuff sack.

Now I am thinking I need to move my lines to the tarp so that my stake bag is more tidy.
