I like the idea of being able to get my stuff together and then "sit and spin" getting into the hammock. Of course, I do realize that the less stuff I have in there, the less of an issue I'll have. I recently got an UQ and I'm sure I'll find as it warms up a little, that I need less inside the hammock.
Here's an upside I haven't seen mentioned. Most hangers have noticed that changing clothes in a hammock is a hassle. It's a lot easier to change while sitting or standing in the bottom entry and it affords some privacy.
For those who haven't noticed, Hennessy has introduced a side entry model with pad slot. For me, it's not worth the extra weight. Love my Hyperlight Backpacker.
