Sleep Tracking - Hammock vs. Bed

I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but I did not find a similar thread.

I recently got my first "activity tracker", which supposedly also tracks your sleep cycles, and I made an interesting (to me) observation the first time I slept in a hammock wearing it. My total sleep time in the hammock was less than at home because I stayed up enjoying the campfire, but even so the "deep" sleep time was pretty equal. But that's not what got my attention. My phone's app (Garmin Connect) also has a "movement" screen. When I looked at that, I was blown away by how little I moved around in the hammock (except to answer nature's call and check on my girlfriend). No tossing/turning that I usually do in my own bed. Of course, this was just one night, but I thought it was pretty interesting. Anyone else check their trackers to see if they have better sleep in a hammock than in a bed?

I move around a lot less in my hammock and wake up feeling much better. That's why I hang fulltime now.

I wonder what the ladies might think if I had a swinging contraption in my room full time..

On a serious note, I also noticed better sleep in a hammock, but that was only three nights so far..

I've always been interested in how accurate this sleep data is. I've got a garmin tracker as well and I have tried a couple sleep tracker apps on my phone too. Maybe I'll run them side by side this week to see how they compare.

Interesting findings though. I wonder if it's better to get more rest or better rest. Or rather what the ratio is. Anyway Thanks for sharing.

You can't move as much in a hammock as there's no where to go
