by value I mean amsteel 7/64 costs only 30% more, but adds 3x strength, I think that's better value, unless you really need the 1/16" diameter, if they lower the price of zing-it to 1/2 the cost of amsteel, that will make more sense

Be happy it doesn't cost more than amsteel. You are missing a huge consideration -weight & bulk. Ultralight backpackers are generally happy to spend extra money on materials/products that are more fragile and have a lower weight rating than their heavier counterparts. As relatively light as it may be, I couldn't imagine rigging my cuben tarp with a 7/64 amsteel ridgeline and tieouts... and worst of all, no dutchware!!

HAHA yeah 7/64...I keep a length of that in my Jeep in place of a tow strap.
