    Video - Piney River Trail

This trail is one segment of the larger Cumberland Trail system that is still in development. This has to be the least used trail i have ever been on...yet one of the best. The trail runs along the river the whole way (after a short distance at the beginning) and there must be something about the sound of water that soothes the soul because that was a relaxing and therapeutic journey.

I enjoy working for my heat...it seems to make my food taste better. -Richard Proenneke

Looks like a really nice trail along the river.

Man those were some big steaks!

It's always a balance camping by running water, when is it too loud or not loud enough... plus what are you not hearing when all you can hear is the water rushing by...

But the white noise does make for some good sleep! Thanks for sharing!

Isn't that the truth. I went a couple of weeks ago and camped by a waterfall and I kept thinking to myself what am I NOT hearing

I agree...it was a bit too loud for my liking. Had I been by myself it would've been worse. But there is some comfort in numbers. The bear may eat my friends first
But noise aside...the noise was a wonderful sound anyway and especially during the day.
