Welcome to the fourms. Glad to see some more Nebraska people take to the hammock. Like others have said get the gear and test it.

I have been wanting to get to indian caves SP for almost two years now!
When me and my brother were little we were in the Indian Guides with our dad.
We were in for four years and those were some of hte best memories I have! I was always excited when we went camping at Indian Caves! That place was SO FUN.
Only problem is that I don't own a car. My only method of transportation is my bicycle. But now that I am on the overnight shift at work I'll be able to do some treks down there. THe overnights you work seven days on, then get seven off. So I could take my two days to ride down there, camp for three, ride two back and still have plenty of time! And with a hammock I could hang anywhere!
I have some saddle bags already on the bike (not very large maybe 10 liters each) so I'd have to take a pack, any idea how well the Granite City Vapor Trail would handle on the bike?
Welcome, OrionFyre!
[I like OnionFire too... someone should grab that screen name!]

not sure if you mean the vapor trail, (Granite Gear? has the Virga)but be sure to get a pack that clings close to you and doesn't have strings and straps and pockets all over it.. think sleek, and aerodynamic..I've seen some pics of Deuter (sp?) peak bags that might suit.
Hope this helps.. KM
