That might solve the issue of the ridgepole bending up.
Take a line, tie a fig8 on the bight to form a loop to slide over the ridgepole, then take the tails of the line down to the bottom of the feet and secure them.
You could combine it with the original lashing (from apexes to feet).

Perhaps just do the cross-brace lashing in one side, leave the other side to enter/exit.
This might cause an issue with lateral stability. So you might address that by X-bracing the legs on the ground (head-right to foot left and v-v).
Another good idea! Thanks a bunch!

Make sure you're able to stake the stand into the ground and all connections secure as the winds can be ferocious.

I'm hoping to find places where I can use stakes. Have you been? If so, I'd sure like to pick your brain!

You won't have to look too hard to get stakes in.
Don't remember ever having problems when we were there, for a fortnight in a tent. We were car-camping and used campsites, rather than wild camping.
Despite weathering a Storm Force 11 on the island of Heimaey, never had a stake pull out. The gusts flattened the tent several times that night, but gamely it just kept popping back up. Each time it got hammered I went out and added another guyline... spidersweb by morning!!

    Another update on mods
Tried every method of cordage supports suggested (none worked). Also tried tilting feet outward (disaster, collapsed) and pipe braces from the legs to the RP (didn't stop sway).

So... I decided I was just going to have to add a 3rd leg. Made it thru the night, so I think I'm stuck with more weight in my pack. I still think it's under 10 lbs.

One minor issue is the 3rd leg rising up when I sit or shift my weight in the hammock. It causes the whole stand to fall the opposite direction if I don't catch it in time. Luckily I'm only 3 inches off the ground. Otherwise, feels pretty secure.

This is because the force vector moves outside the triangle formed on the ground by the three legs.

What are you using for under insulation?

Not to steer this a totally different direction but couldn't you fashion a turtle dog style stand out of the bigger tent pole sections and be significantly lighter. Maybe truss the components like the hiking pole-hammock stand combo set ups that raftingtiger makes?
