    Maryland Hanging Opportunities?

I'm looking for some help as to hanging opportunities in Maryland. Has anyone got any suggestions?

I've hung on the AT in MD at the following places.

    Ensign Cowall Shelter
    Dahlgren Camp Ground
    Crampton Gap

From what I saw all of the shelters in MD have decent hanging opportunities near by.

I've hung at Devils Racecourse Shelter, Pogo Memorial Campsite, Dahlgren's Backpack Campground and Crampton Gap. Plenty of hanging opportunies all around. Just bear in mind that the ground is very rocky and that you may have to tie your guylines to rocks instead of stakes in the ground.

I didn't tie up but when I stopped for lunch at the Ed Garvey Shelter I did some scouting and it looked real good. A bit high up and exposed but in nice weather wouldn't be bad.

Just agreeing with Hooch and DGrav, when I crossed Maryland on the AT I saw a blue million places to hang....Maryland,PA,NJ are perfect excuses for hanging considering the rocks.

Thanks! For the input and suggestions. It will be spring before my work will let up. Enough for me to get out and doing any hiking. But I am looking forward to getting some hang time. In some of the locations that you have suggested. Thanks again!
