Thanks bfulton! I fixed the dates. The movie is a bit long--I made it for family, but thought I'd share anyway.

We had a blast and I hope we can do a group hang again soon. We're new to Arizona, so almost any location would be a new adventure for us.

It was great to see you guys too! After the hike out, I thought that next time we should plan some group activity together--maybe a fireside crackerbarrel, a potluck, or group breakfast. Of course, if we find a place where we can car camp, I can pull in my Dutch ovens and really have a cook-out!

Oh, and let me know when your thru-hike brings you near Flagstaff. I'm happy to help with some trail magic or maybe join you for a section of the trail. I'm so jealous of your upcoming trip, but my son did lift my spirits by mentioning on the hike out that we should do the AZ Trail when he gets bigger. Sounds good to me!
Yes, we hiked fossil springs trail. I'm guessing you hiked in/out from the power plant as we didnt see you.

Strange. We passed only two people who hiked down the fossil springs trail. You may have been above us as we hiked out. It sounded like you cam into camp just as we left it. Hopefully we'll catch you on the next group hang.

This setup allowed me to have easy access to them during the night. I'm sure some would find the close quarters confining, but I thought it felt very cozy.
I think cozy and kids go hand in hand.

My 6yo son had a hard time getting to sleep on Drummond Island with the yotes talking off in the distance.

Man, great trip report buddy. You did an awesome job on the video. That will be one that you can show the kids and other family members for years to come! They were some great walkers!

Thanks stormcrow! We had a lot of fun. I was so glad they could join me. It can be hard to take kids because it often requires a lot of effort to get them comfortable. I notice that I don't sleep as well when I take the kids because I'm constantly worried if they are warm enough, etc. Of course, I am taking them in the middle of winter. I'm not sure how many people take their kids out in 30-degree weather for fun. I think if I get them all Crowsnest's under quilts, I won't have to worry about them getting cold at night and I can get a better sleep

Some guy not to long ago made the news when he did that.

    His wife dissapeared.

    Odd.

Looking at the weather report http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick...2=-111.493&e=0 it sure would have been a different hang if we had gone this weekend verse last weekend! Jake would have had a much harder time with his setup
