Don't be like me and actually take your time. Like I said, it's only been a couple of weeks and I've already made and entire hammock set. The tarp definitely had me swearing up and down.

I'm ordering a walking foot and roll hem foot to test out on extra material. I also have a bunch of clothespins I plan to use as my clips.

I dusted my silnet with talcum powder last night. The tarp cured for approx 12 hours so I'm hoping I'm not jumping the gun with the powder. I took it down so it didn't get covered in morning dew and draped it over my spare bed so the seams have more time without touching or being stuffed.

Well I still have to sew my girlfriends tarp. I already made her bugnet TQ and uq. I got 0.9 ripstop for her.

Then I'm making a winter tarp with doors but I plan to do that little by little as to not get so frustrated. Hoping these new presume foot's will help.

It gets easier after you sew the stuff for a while. I watched Jellyfish with the rolled hem foot and it looked so easy. I tried (not so good) then watched her video again and noticed that she is so patient with the hems. I tried again, sew a little check my folds sew again. It moves along quickly and much easier. This is the way I like to do the flys on my ridgeline tie outs. Sewing not great, one of my earlier tarps. Not that it is all that much better now.

I suggest tape then sew. When I sew cloth, I iron hems then if needed tape, pin, or clamp with paper clips. Remove clip before needle gets to them

Does the needle get all coated with the adhesive? Does it dull the needle quickly?

So... I have never had this issue. I know there was a lot of debate at one point amount some members. Some claimed it did and suggested cleaning your needle periodically with alcohol.

Maybe it's the brand of tape I use. My needles have never fouled that I could tell when sewing seems using the tape. I use it for my tarps and also for hammocks.

It happened to me with some sticky backed Velcro that I also had to sew on. Thanks for the reply.
