If you're camping on the beach itself, don't forget to take appropriate stakes for sand. Alternatively, have a really good look around for places to hang - you may have to head a little away from the official site but all you're doing is sleeping. It's amazing the places you can hang with a little imagination.

High elevation and no sand. I want to camp with the group since I am asking regarding the WRR and Grizzly country and the trail we are backpacking isn't conducive to hanging if others are in tents...hanging spots and tent spots are not in the same place.

If you will have wide open spaces the WP should be good. You can use the hiking poles or shrubs, maybe a rock on one side.

I recently changed my HG standard tarp with doors from a continuous ridgeline to separate lines with Dutch Flyz. I don't know if that would be better or worse, on the ground. You shouldn't be centering the tarp after setup, though, so I think the continuous ridgeline is unnecessary.

We're getting a storm here this weekend. Rain and lightning down here. Will you get another dump of snow as well?

Maybe, but since I'm not taking my hammock it'll be tough

I would be removing the CRL for ground-dwelling. I bought some ZPacks trekking pole cups to try so we'll see how they do when I put it up.

No snow this weekend...supposed to be in the 80s so I'm doing some preventative maintenance to my RV roof.
