Thanks for asking about the business. I have made these chairs for friends from Boy Scouts for several years, but it is too difficult to do it fast enough to make it worth my time.
My wife works for an small aid organization that operates two facilities in Haiti called BGM. They focus on Development instead of aid and have helped the local communities accomplish some really cool stuff. They recently opened a Business Center which acts like an incubator for local businesses where power and water are available. One local business is NRH Kouti which makes school uniforms and some other items.
Between BGM, volunteers from the University of Alabama Business School and myself, we are using FeatherLite Outdoors as a "friendly" to teach business practices, time estimation, cost estimation, quality control, process development, etc. the intent is for the local business owners to learn how to win contracts and succeed.
You can check out BGM at www.butgodministries.com
Check out the blog entries on my website for more information on NRH Kouti (Nathan, Ruth Henry Sewing) and how we work together.
