    Holy Delivery Times, RipstopMan!

Ordered some thread, fabric & stuff on Friday 5/19 at 10:17am.

Shipping notification 5/19 12:45pm. Standard USPS. North Carolina to upstate New York.

Just received it Monday 5/22. You guys rock! I know the postal service deserves some credit as well, but you shipped so fast.

Now that I have the matching dark olive thread I have no more excuses on starting my pre-cut hex tarp kit. If I think I can trust my sewing machine to do what it's supposed to do. I've gone through so much thread practicing on a scrap of sil-poly (and then ripping out the stitches) that it's about to fall apart.

Glad to hear it . Things are starting to settle down from the move, which makes it easier. Let us know if you need anything during the build.

Thanks, Kyle. Unfortunately I did just think of one more thing to keep me from starting. Somehow I didn't order a spool of black Mara 70, and I can't find it locally. JoAnn's has a different polyester Guetermann, but want to be sure I use the right stuff. It's marked CA02776 (Guetermann Sew-All Poly), does anyone know if it will be strong enough to attach tie-outs to a sil-poly tarp?

    Thanks again,
    Rich

I sewed an entire tarp with Sew-All that is still going strong, so it should be fine. Mara 70 is preferable, but it's not a deal breaker. You can always go back over them with black Mara 70 at some point in the future.

I also sewed my latest tarp with Mara 100 (sew all) just to see how it would hold up compared to previous tarps with Mara 70. Absolutely no issues so far. One things that might help, which I do regardless of thread, is to put a good dose of seam sealer on all stitching that holds on your tie outs. This strengthens things up and will likely benefit the thinner thread as well.

+1 on lightening fast shipping. Ordered some goodies late on Thursday, got shipping notice very next morning. Received before I was off Monday.

Very happy with the goodies too. My son loves them as well, which is good cause it's about to be his birthday hammock.

    Thanks ripstop crew.

+1 also for lightning fast shipping. I live only 14 miles away, so if we could figure out how to get USPS to stop routing my packages through Greensboro, that'd be great!

Wouldn't it be easier (not to mention cheaper) to just arrange to pick up your order?
