Northeast Upper Peninsula near Munising: Where should I hike and camp?

I'm headed up to go kayaking in Munising in a few weeks, and will have an extra day or two to do some hiking and hanging.

I've already done Pictured Rocks, and I hate crowded campsites, especially RV "campgrounds". Was thinking of places like Two Hearted, Little Carp, Red and Green Bridge, Blind Sucker, Pike Lake, etc. 5-10 miles would be a nice hike, would prefer a campground with views of water. Hike and camp don't necessarily have to be in the same place.

    Anybody have recommendations?

Last September, Donk67 and I knocked off another section of the NCT from Tacquemon to Blind Sucker. We passed through Culhane Lake SFCG and it's hanging nirvana! Great trees and a beautiful lake, plus you could do an out and back on the NCT. Here's the link:

Link to trip report but photos don't come through anymore due to photobucket change. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...d.php?t=130077

This is exactly the info I was hoping for. Thanks!

Already heading out there with the kayak. Was looking for a little extra to tack on either before and after, so if you know anyplace else in the Tahquamenon/ Munising area, let me know.

Also hoping for a stop at Brown Fisheries if I can swing it.

I picked up a smoked fish from Brown's last time I was up there. I love those pasties from Muldoons, but I've gotta toss a plug in for Johnny's Dogs in Munising. It hits the spot after coming off the trail!

I might try Johnny Dogs after my Grand Island trip next month, but have to admit I've already got my taste buds set on a big cheeseburger from the Buckhorn in Trout Lake. But man, those Piggy Fries at Johnny's really look good!

Oh, and you can keep that nasty smoked fish. Ew.

Sorry for the thread hijack...but stop by www.spikes-grayling.com for a Spikeburger on the way back home! And of course check out the Au Sable while you're passing thru.

At this rate, I'm going to gain weight on my backpacking trip! Looked at their menu and that does look like a good spot to eat.
