Lightweight hammock as wide as ENO doublenest

I have an ENO double nest. I recently made a diy hammock that is 60 inches wide- what appears to be the standard for most hammocks out there. It works okay, but since I am used to the extra width of my ENO I fell out of it twice the other night. I guess I move around a lot, and have gotten used to the extra width of the ENO. I am trying to make my pack base weight lighter, so would like to have a lighter hammock than the ENO. Are there any out there that are as wide as the double nest but lighter? Also please note I do not use a bug net due to claustrophobia so it needs to not have an integrated bug net.

How long is your DIY? I find 60" plenty with my 11' hammock and rarely feel the need to move around. I started with and ENO double, but learn d to despise too much floppy material. A 10' hammock in a 60-64 width might do the job. Check out Dutch's Hexon material (I believe they have a wider material), or Ripstop by the Roll has Hyper D in a wide fabric, or Robic XL is amazing as well! Good luck!

you can get a dream hammock in hyperD XL that will be about as wide as the doublenest. I was like you I had a doublenest then when to a 11' dutchware hammock and missed the wideness of the ENO, so when I ordered my dream hammock I went with the hyperD XL and had them go wide as possible. it's not as wide as the ENO but close

Lol it was tight the first time I fell out, but I adjusted it and it had the proper amount of sag. Full disclosure I have had four concussions and do have some balance issues lol. My number one rule is don't hang my hammock to high, so I don't fall to far!

It measures out to nearly 11 feet. I am nearly 6 foot, and do like the longer length.

The weight depends on what options you choose. But if you look click on the "Recent Pictures" on their website, you'll see the specs of each hammock that was made. Most of their netless hammocks seem to be between 13-16oz- which is quite a bit lighter than the Eno.

Warbonnet also makes a lightweight netless hammock, called the Traveler. Simply Light Designs also makes a lightweight netless hammock, and their turnaround is ridiculously fast. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these vendors.

At 6' I'd definitely stay with the 11' length! Another great option would be a hammock with an integrated net. It could keep you corralled during the night. You can get some great integrated net hammocks that would still be light through Simply Light Designs, Dream Hammock, or Dutch (once the Chameleon goes public). I recently picked up an extra SLD trail lair off his ready to go gear list for $119, so that didn't break the bank!
