I checked the WM website, and here is the description...

SAMSON ROPE Lash-It Twine Only $43.99 USD
    • Twine Size: 1.75mm
    • Length Put-Up(ft): 600
    • Weight (lb.) per Put-Up: 1.0
    • Strength Average (lb.): 400
    • Spool: 180'
Looking at their description, it is kind of confusing (imo) whether the cost of $43.99 is for a length of 600' or 180', so I called WM to confirm the price, and the fellow told me it is $43.99 for 180'.

Thanks for looking into it though, Boris Losdindawoods.

I think you'll find West Marine is far more expensive than anywhere else.

As already pointed out, that price is for a 180' spool.

    .

This question may be covered elsewhere and if so , if someone would provide a link, I'd appreciate it. I've looked around on the site but find no approximation.

Q- Assuming a 30 degree hang, what is the "average" ASR tension rating?

I'm thinking of doing an ASR on my HH, but want to experiment first. Thinking about temporarily using 2 prusiks for the experimental adjustments and I want to make sure I use the correct strength cordage. (While talking with Hawk-Eye, he suggested that idea. Thanks H-E)

I'm also getting a new hammock so will start saving for one of these.

I like my hammock almost flat for sleeping (My 8.5' hammock has a 7.5' ridgeline), but I like a huge sag for sitting around so this would be a boon for me.

    Thanks for the report!!!

Yea how much force is actually on the ASR, seems kinda scary to use such a small line to hang from, or is all the force on the whoppie slings on the hammock ends?

I know when I get in mine, the RL is tight enough I can't twist it, at all.

I'm sure there is quite a bit of tension on it, but I'm guessing it's not near what's on the suspension.

I just recently removed my stock blackbird ridgeline. Weighed half an oz. Gonna replace it with one similar to the ones you make opie. How much line do you use to make one of your adj structural ridgelines opie?

Replaced, got the weight even lower. Right now my blackbird without tree straps weighs around 14oz.
