It is not waterproof. For that you would need to select the tarp material fabric option for this jacket. The breathable quilt material option is more for a windbreaker.

I must admit that I can't quite get my head around the specific concept for this jacket, but it looks cool.

Kroma, how does the size Large fit for your particular height and weight?

I was confused too. According to Warbonnet the quilt material is water resistant, not water proof.

From their site: "Using our quilt fabric makes for a typical un-lined windbreaker that is wind and water resistant ... not as wind or water resistant as the tarp fabric option, but it’s much more breathable and well suited for high activity levels."

Yes, this is why I asked. If it's not water proof then it's just a wind jacket right?

I'm 6'2" 220# and it's a nice fit that is loose enough to go over another layer or two.

Honestly I'm tempted send this back. For what I wanted it for (windbreaker) it has a bit too much extra weight. There are wind jackets from Montbell and zpacks that weigh 2 oz. for approximately the same cost as the Stash. I'm not sure the large pit zips and huge front zippers justify the additional 3 oz of weight penalty.

Perhaps durability is the answer. I don't know, I haven't field tested any of the 3 wind jackets I've considered.

It is a very well constructed product to be sure. I'm pleased to see Warbonnet branching out into clothing. I will continue to keep my eye on this product should they revise the design in the future.

Yes. A 5 oz wind jacket. Competitor wind jackets are about 2 oz. for a similar price. I don't know, maybe this one wins in durability.
