Hey guys:
I will have a ground dweller with me and we will try to be at the meet up point early on Sat. morning. I can't wait! Now all I have to do is finish the DIY hammock stand and get a wet tarp test in before next weekend. Signifigant other is going to be upset when I cut our V-Day weekend short to accomplish all of this! Oh well, this obsession was first!

I would love to attend this to meet even more hangers and actually hike....but it is on my work week. If you'd chosen the week before or after I'd have been there...so next year choose the opposite week!

I haven't totally decided yet but I have to be at UAB Wednesday afternoon for some tests and I may just head on up to Cheaha after and hike in to Blue Mtn Shelter for Wednesday night. Then Thursday hike the Pinhoti south or the Cave Creek Trail to Little Caney Head for Thursday Night. Friday morning hike down to the Turnipseed parking on 281 to meet everyone. Just thinking now. Depends on work and such.

But I am there now, or at least I am on 281 EDIT: AT it's intersection with County rd 600G. This looks correct from earlier directions. I am trying ti figure out if I can possibly make it, looks unlikely at the moment. But hope springs eternal!

I wish that I had known. I was originally going for the next week but I am going to be headed to Springer then to drop off my grandson for his attempted thru. If we were doing it this weekend looks like we would have a nice snow.

Check it out in Google Earth. The parking lot is just about directly across 281 from County rd 600g also known as Skyway Motorway.

Im in for sure for a portion on this hike!

Im shuttling a couple others (Funny Money & Friend) in the area on Friday morning, so I will meet you at Turnipseed Camp late morning.

I may be able to cut loose from the 'Ham Thursday and meet you out at Blue Mtn for Thursday nite. I was actually just considering camping at Turnip seed, but I sure could use the miles!

Let me know what your doing and I'll try and meet up with ya out there!
