    Truck -Tree hanging

In trying to find a place to hang near the cabin I have considered this set up.
I only see a problem of the angle on the Yakima risers. (The Yakima risers are on the cap)
The back riser is about 15' from the tree.
I have a WB BB XLC with Whoopie Slings. 15' is about right, and I can go further easily. So, I could use the next forward riser.

Any warnings of forces from experienced hangers before I break something.

I could angle the truck more perpendicular to the tree.

    Edit:
I just called Yakima and they don't recommend it, and have never tested that.

Not sure what hardware is holding those onto your cap but I'm guessing it's strong enough, although I would run the line to the far side of the risers instead of the near side.

Your doorjamb is going to be a lot stronger, especially near the hinges. Tie something on the end of your suspension, open truck door and toss it in, close door. Adjust as needed. If you have enough cordage, you could go over top of the cab and into the door on the opposite side to get the same height you would as tying to the racks.

I don't like the idea. Fiberglass tops and Yakimas list weight ratings. Typically for down force loads only, not side to side loads. They hold ladders and kayaks.

An option is to use the door frame of your truck. Toss the webbing over the roof and wrap the webbing around the B-pillar. I've done this a few times with vehicles, and haven't seen any damage. The strap load is dispersed across the entire roof and the B-pillars are extra strong, since they hold the seat belts. Keep your strap away from sun roofs..obviously.
The one caveat is that the webbing will allow rain water into the vehicle

    Thanks. That makes sense.
I had to look up b-pillars.

    Edit:
The Access cab doesn't have a real B-Pillar. There isn't a rear window or a pillar. The 2 doors come together.
I will try a toggle on a Dutchware woven daisy chain.

    Thanks.
I did this. It's dark here, so a bit grainy and not much detail.
I put the Dutchware strap over the truck and used a piece of maple from a tree branch to keep it in the cab.
Looped over, it is aligned by the Thule rack.
The whoopie strings are connected to the daisy chain with carabiners.
The tarp is attached over that on the Thule rack.

I even have a bit of rise on the foot end.

The offroaders I hang out with do it, various different roof racks. Just have to put a little trust in the truck and welds on the rack. Camped in a parking lot last night on a Overland road rally and several people were hung truck-tree, truck-light pole, truck-truck.

Huh, I wouldn't have trusted it. Color me shocked. Even the door jambs, I can pry back the top of most doors to get a slim jim in if needed, doesn't take much to tweak a door especially above the glass.
