    Adds on Tapatalk ...grrrrrrrr

I just starting seeing ads on Tapatalk. Some are offensive. I used this daily to check HF, and some other forums. I'm a donating member, but now I have to pay again to avoid ads?

The adds on Tapatalk of course have nothing to do with this forum or any forum. It's an app that is just a reader for forums. I tried it some but did not care for the way it was set up. I just browns in Safari on my iPhone. Looks and runs that same as the desktop version on my macs.

I'm probably going to try that and hopefully ditch the app. I could handle a few ads, but these are over the top and everywhere.

Hammock Forums has no control over tapatalks ads. We can't fix this. Don't most cell phones have an internet browser?
I have heard if you use the free tapatalk you get their ads and if you buy the premium tapatalk the ads go away. So there is two fixes for ya.

If you can find and load an older version of TapTalk you can avoid the ads as well. I've not upgraded my TT for years and still do not have ads.

I like the way tapatalk allows me to subscribe to both threads and subforums. The Sub-forums don't show up on my subscribed list in the browser any more (but I swear it did at one point).

However it did not allow me to subscribe such that I would get email updates, which I do via browser. I didn't try subscribing to sub-forums with email updates on the browser. That's essentially how BPL works.

So I just tried to subscribe to "For Sale" and want it to email me every new thread. I can't do that like I can on BPL. If I subscribe to that sub-forum and use tapatalk I can see it is bold when there are new posts, but what I really want is an immediate notification of new threads in that sub-forum. On the browser I need to go into the for sale subforum to see what is new - and even there it shows me replies in the same way as new posts. I'll sometimes get excited when I think I see a new post about something I'm looking for - only to see that dkurfiss is asking if this old thread should still be open.

Do you have email notifications turned off in your profile?

I can see how that would be handy. I just use the new posts button when I check hammock forums.
