Regarding your pack choices, I think you need to know how much weight you want to carry and go from there. I am a recovering UL fanatic, always going lighter, buy a new gimmick for a 1 oz savings, had my base weight all the way down to like 9# and then I woke up. I still have all the UL packs but my kids use them and I will still by lighter gear where I can, but for me a few ounces here or there is no problem. I bought a McHale pack and at 3+#s it carries more weight more comfortably than my Mariposa or Gorilla or fill in the blank did with 10#'s in it. Now my kids use all my UL packs.

On the hammock topic, I have 7 warbonnet hammocks, including two ridge runners, I love the RR, it is all I have slept in in about 2 years and I am in it dozens of night a year. If you are a back sleeper, this hammock is great, the lynx and cloudburst go with it perfectly, no rain issues in regards to coverage whatsoever, and the lynx fits great (as does the wookie for the xlc), my kids sleep in my Blackbirds and blackbirds xlc, and I still like them, but the bridge is so comfortable, the view out both sides is outstanding, and as others pointed out the weight is very negligible, imo if you get a hammock to save a few ounces over comfort, you have your priorities wrong, it's about comfort and enjoyment when you are out there.

I love Warbonnet, simple and yet outstanding designs, I looked at the Chameleon, and then I thought, I already tried, Hennesy, DreamHammock, Wilderness Logics, and always came back to WB. I even built the chameleon in the cart, then when I looked at the price after adding the peak shelf, suspension, this that and the other, it weighed more than a blackbird and the BB already has the great functioning shelf and footbox built in, I just can't see it, but then I have never thought to myself, "boy I wish I could lay with my feet the other way" IMO it is hard to beat any WB product, there is a reason everyone else is trying to come up with something new or reinvent Brandon's footbox or shelf. Because it works and works well.

Warbonnet RidgeRunner Two Tarps are Better Than One

I use the SuperFly with the RR without any issues. I like the ability to use the doors as added coverage in a pinch. Since purchasing a CF tarp I use the SuperFly for car camping with the scouts and shorter trips, especially in the winter. For longer hikes I use a Zpacks CF tarp with doors. My son ran off with the CF on his AT hike this year so I had to buy another one (no regrets). Both tarps allow one to pull the doors out or in for extra coverage. You'll want to rig the tarp wider at the head of the RR due to the pole length compared to the foot. The head also tends to move more when settling onto the hammock.
Some vids and pics of the tarps below:

The tarp on the right had nice long sides. What are the full dimensions?

That's the Superfly: Ridgeline Length: 11’0” Width: 10’0”. It's rigged pretty low.

So looking a warbonnets site the single camo and double are the same weights and the weight rating is both 250 so with that said does the double have less sag?

From what I understand, material and layers contribute to the firmness of the hammock much like a mattress.

So I just got my WB RR double layer in the mail. Can't wait to try it out.

Newb question - how do I properly repack it in the stuff sack? Is there a technique to it?
