Video of NEW Warbonnet RidgeRunner spreader bars

I really like the new shorter overall better nesting spreader bars. This will make a big difference in the upper end of my backpack.

Thanks for the video! I'd like to see how they nest since that is supposed to be one of the new, improved features.

honestly i never thought about it because for me the overall length was the big thing and only thing i cared about. I nested the other ones pretty well but the overall length was bothering me.

+1: that was my main reason in switching to carbon. With all my bars sub 16" they are much easier to fit in my bike bags.

    Cool video!
Curious, are the new foot end pieces identical in length, including the length of the insert? Or, is the length of the piece with the insert longer, just like the old set? Reason I'm asking is because the lengths of the foot end pieces dictates the overall pack (nested) lengths.

See the video at around 45 seconds where he shows and states the footend poles are identical.

Thanks, I just saw the photo that TiedUp posted on the Spreader Bar Poll thread.
What I had imagined was that each half of the foot end piece would be identical in length to each other, thus reducing the overall pack length by another inch. I hope this makes sense...

When I get home tonight I will re-look at these specifics for you and do some nesting and take some pictures. I think that the foot end pieces are now the longest since he shortened the longer head end pieces. I do remember that the new foot end pieces were identical to the old foot end pieces. Of course they will nest into two of the head end pieces which is added benefit.

    The two biggies for me:
    1. Shorter overall enough to fit in pack without poking up
    2. No more little stubby 4" piece that always got lost and really aggregated me by always getting in the way or falling out of the group.

I don't even care about nesting really as long as those two things are resolved. I'm a little OCD about certain things and those really bothered me.

    1st picture:
Old and new sets beside each other un-nested

    2nd picture:
    Old set nested
New set mostly nested but 1 bar left un-nested so that minimal length can be achieved.

    3rd picture:
    Both sets fully nested.
