I've never hiked out to Juniper Springs so I'm probably parking there again. I'm thinking of coming in on Thursday morning, will confirm Thursday arrival by July 15. Chigger prevention 100% deep and lots of prayers! Happy Father's Day

I think this is a perfect prescription for a Hammock Hang....Florida Style.

Come on out to the 5th Annual No Underquilt Hang in July for some fun in the Florida Sun. Bring your swim trunks to relax in the clean, spring fed waters of Hidden Pond, Hike the Florida Trail to Silver Glen or Juniper Springs (day use fees) or just relax around the fire(small-ish) and stay in camp.

Hang out with some of the best folks around and make new friends. It's just a short hike in from the West using Hidden Pond Short. Or stroll on in from the North on the Florida Trail starting at Pat's Island trailhead. You can also extend your hike coming in from the South starting at Juniper Springs(Parking Fee).

Hope to see you all soon.

    Previous info for this Hang.

    Floridahanger,

I regret that I won't be able to make this hang. I'm flying up to Massachusetts to attend a hang with the NEHHA group at Harold Parker State Forest in Andover, MA. that week-end. Otherwise I'd be at your hang.

I reside in Largo, FL now and would love to meet and hang with all of the Southeast brothers and sisters. I'll monitor the Trip Planning Forum/Southeast and keep my eyes peeled for some future Florida hangs. I have followed some of the other Florida hangs in the trip reports and you all seem to have as much fun as the Northeast group.

I can't wait to meet you in person.

    All the best !

Please post the location of trailhead and approx time of arrival in case there are new hikers that may want to buddy up. Bring your towel because of... enjoying the pond and frequent unexpected rain.

This is primitive camping to hike out to in the sun, so time to pare down those heavy packs and start dehydrating some good eats.

Plenty of time to show interest and hang in the Florida heat. *confession- I have had to use my UQ on several "No UQ Hangs" in July.* Love the Florida Piney woods.

Nice ride there. You should have plenty of Snook, Reds, and Trout to keep you busy.

Have fun with those great folks up there. Tell them we said hi. Also, we will have the "Summer's Last Gasp Hang" last weekend of September. Hope to see you there.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

That's easy. Both. Hike out with Chris on Sunday morning and spend the rest of the day at Juniper Springs.

Last time I parked at Juniper Springs and Grinder dropped me off we couldn't jump in the spring due to an 8 foot gator decided he wanted the spring to himself. Chiggers plus gators that time!

The Gator only hurts once, the chiggers lasted over two weeks! LOL
