    Hexon vs hyper D

I love the feel of my 1.6 hexon but I want a wide hammock but they are out of fabric. How does the hyper D feel compared to hexon.

Similar in feel, but IMHO the HyperD seems slightly more stretchy;. If you want (moderately) wide fabric and a lay that feels noticeably firmer than Hexon, you could try the remarkable 1.7 oz ROBIC, which I like a lot; it provides a very firm, supportive lay from a single midweight layer.

I'll second the 1.7 ROBIC. It's very firm and supportive, and some friends have been surprised at how comfortable it is when they lay in it. They seemed to expect it to be "hard" but it's not. I prefer less stretch, and this fits the bill perfectly for me.

When I am in shape (190/195ish pounds) I thought HyperD was perfect of all the fabrics (in narrow or XL).
When I am not in shape at about 225 I cross that line where hyperD is too stretchy someplace in there.

That said- I haven't been in shape again since the Hybrid 1.7 came out... but of the dozen or so I've sold to folks of various shapes and sizes in GE form they all agree they like it.

For sub 250lbs I believe the Hybrid 1.7 is ideal. It has a right and wrong side (sorta) if you care about the softness... not quite as silky as hyperD but likely as good as Hexon. So if you really are worried about the hand then pay attention to the inside and outside. I actually prefer it "wrong side up" in a GE because it's easier to move around but if you're good at finding a sweet spot and settling in I would go with the smooth side up.

I'm sure I was talking to someone on a thread somewhere about the differences between the two ripstop grid patterns, but I'm darned if I can find it now. So I'll put this here...

    First off Hexon (1.6),

the ripstop weave makes a union-jack pattern and each box is 2mm wide by 2.9mm long

    Then HyperD (1.6)

the ripstop weave makes a diamond pattern and each diamond is 2.3mm wide by 4.1mm long

Easy to see the diff with your close up photos. Thanks for posting them.

I have a diy 12 ft HyperD XL and a diy 12 ft Hexon wide hammock. I am 6’4” and 215 lbs. The HyperD hammock is my go to for comfort every time.

Anyone know where the Hexon is sourced from? I assume Ripstop by the Roll is using the Hyosung company Kyle sourced in Korea but I haven't heard where Dutch is getting his supply now. Curious - I think I heard somewhere China but I haven't seen anything concrete like a website yet.
