    DIY Spreader Bar

30in long aluminum tube with a 3/4in diameter from the hardware store. 3/4in washers that matched the outside diameter of the tube without being able to fall inside. I filled the ends of the tube with some two part epoxy and taped the washer over the end making a plug about 3/4-1/2 inch thick. Once the epoxy had set I drilled a hole through the end and glued a nail in each end. Electrical tape to make sure the washers don't come unglued and get lost.

That setup Jeff Myers has is awesome, anyone know where to get those plastic end pieces he machined? Sounded something like a plastic bushing?

I think they're custom parts that he made himself. I would suggest sending him a message on Facebook if you want more information, he's very responsive and helpful.
