Glad to have ya here hang um!!
Glad your here!
Definately try to make it to Ed's Hot Springs hangout. Another great time to be in Hot Springs is for the Annual Broad River Fest .... if you like music and big group camp / hang outs. Don't forget that some of the South Carolina trails (FHT, Table Rock, Jones Gap) are in great shape, have challenging elevation changes, without being up at the 4000 to 6000 foot range. Makes for warmer hiking earlier on in the spring when the frost is still on pretty heavy up on the AT and in Pisgah. Good luck!
Hi, Mr. High!
looks like the best back yard ever; what kind of dog is that?
(Blonde and shaggy is all I can make out from that small pic)
Welcome to the gathering, KM
Again, thanks to all of you for a very warm welcome. I'm just outside of Mars Hill, NC where the zip code is EIEIO .
My dog (whose name is Opie) is a one year old golden doodle and a terrific hiking buddy. I'll be training him to wear his backpack this year.

I would like that.
Been scouting out some sites in the Pisgah near Barnardsville that look real promising come spring. I'm sure you can point me to plenty of spots out on your side of Asheville.
Now if only the snow stops and the power stays on, all will be well.
