    Casual Hammock Time

What are the general rules in your neck of the woods for casual hammock time.

I have to admit I usually just wing it and pitch my hammock at various parks (public lands, dog parks, state parks ...) for a quick 1-2 hour hammock time but I am aware of how and where I choose to pitch.

The last thing I want to hear while laying in a hammock is some onlooking crowds whispering to themselves whether I'm dead or homeless or weird ;-)

I have a bright orange hammock for public places and then my camo/green setup for backpacking/camping :-)

I feel the bright colors help when hanging in public for a 'quickie' :-)

I don't sleep in public places. I like to be aware of what is going on around me and don't much care what people think. As long as I am not breaking any rules or laws no problems.

There is nothing casual about my hanging time. But I can do it in my backyard. Don't really like public hammock hanging.

yeah. I hang in my backyard too. Got a nice pair of trees under the clothes line :-)

... but I definitely don't like to pick trees in public where I could encounter too much attention. Luckily I have many good choices here in Maine.

I used to go to parks and public trails until I got a hammock stand as well as I set up anchor points in the joists in my basement. I didn't mind the public places but never liked the feeling that people could suddenly come up on me. I remember one time I heard someone say "Is that a dead body?". Jeez

Yeah. That blows. I am somewhat considering getting a hammock stand in increase the locations where I can enjoy a hang.
