I'm on for the first of may. Maybe we should plan a second trip Oregon for the end of May when more parental units can go. At a different location. I have to say that the headwaters of the McKenzie River are really beautiful, has lots of trees and lots of water. But since I've never actually been able to recreate on Mt Hood, I'd dig the heck out of that.

I would love to join in on his trip.
You should know I'm legally blind so I can catch a train/bus ect. But will need to bum a ride to the trail head with someone. My guide dog will stay with a friend for this trip.

Ok, I kind of dropped the ball on this in the way of planning but I would still like to meet up with y'all for a hike and hang someplace... I guess I just don't have it in me to plan these things.

I can't go on this trip as it is the same weekend as my Wilderness First Aid hang in North Carolina, but I can start the ball rolling on the organization of the trip.

Sounds like a date that works for some is May 1-2, so now you just need a location and a time to meet up.

The easiest way would be to camp Friday night at a trailhead and have everyone show up when they show up. Everyone meets for breakfast on Saturday at a given time, before camp breaks. Shuttle cars for a non-loop hike at this time. Then hike to another camp together for Saturday night and then hike on to cars or back to original trailhead.

So where are we meeting and where are we hiking? This map shows some good trails that loop from Cascade Locks. Someone who has been there should probably confirm it to be a good location. Also, here are some planned loops.

Ground rules: everyone bring your own gear and your own food.

No one has any input? I was hoping that you guys would find a cool location that I might use when I come up there for the Wilderness First Aid hang in Oregon. Or at the very least, shout out some ideas for locations that I could follow up on. Does anyone have any ideas?

here's my thought.. a bit drier clime and less traveled: The Wenaha–Tucannon Wilderness, over by walla walla there's massive elk herds, basalt plateaus, 1,000' cliffs and there's trees as well.. i've been wanting to check that one out

I have been away on travels and my computer died. Anyone want to take over setting up this hang?
