In all seriousness if it's warm I'll have one arm out above my head and the other on my chest/stomach. If it's colder I'll sleep in a fetal position with them in front of me and my hands under my chin.
I was waitin' for someone to say "I take 'em off and hang 'em up till mornin'".

if you have issues with arms, you could get something like the Amok Draumr, or maybe the luke's 90 Degree hammock. you can lay however you want, arms whereever you want

I stomach sleep in my Amok, so arms are up above my head

I was initially drawn to the Draumr but then immediately repelled by the price. If I bought that hammock I wouldn't have to worry about what to do with my arms, my wife would probably rip them off my body and beat me with them.

What do you do with your arms?

If you have enough Bundy you won't care about your arms!

Another vote for a bridge style hammock for us side sleepers. I too started with a gathered end, but had to sleep coffin-style to feel comfortable. Switched to a bridge and been sleeping comfortably on my side ever since. I kept both styles and can now thankfully adjust my sleeping style to whichever hammock I take with me. Perhaps a longer RL would help.

Interesting as I am new to this as well and just tried out my second night sleeping in a hammock. It was better than ground sleeping but not by much. I am a side sleeper and my little inflatable pillow wasnt cutting it. I fell asleep with my arm above my head and woke up an hour later with an arm in pain from a lack of blood to it. The only time I was truly comfortable was coffin style but I cant fall asleep that way. I was right on the edge though and though a little Tylenol PM would probably do the trick until I get used to sleeping on my back. I just cant afford to pick up another hammock right now.

I'm a side sleeper in a conventional bed. In a hammock I sleep diagonally: head left, feet right, mostly on my back, legs in some variation of figure 4. My left arm rests at my side on the extra hammock fabric, kind of like a built-in shelf, it's one of the side benefits of wider hammocks. My right arm is either resting at my side or draped across the torso. When fetal/side sleeping my arms lay where they lay, like when I sleep in my bed at home.
