Well, I have a need for the hammock stand I started last week so I got it all rigged up to test it. I'm using 1" structure aluminum for the ridgeline with ash tenons in the center 19" section. The original pieces are 6' each and I have a 12' tarp so added that center section. As the progression of pictures show, the ridgeline bowed as I put weight in the hammock and then the thing snapped at one of the joints. The whole thing tumbled down. Notice how the money shot was a little off center as my wife started running to me. So I'm either going to get fence rail or see if my friend can get me a piece of 1" inside aluminum pipe as a sleeve to go over the other pipe. The hammock is my mom's tablecloth hammock I am airing out after her house fire. Better to use that than my $200 WBRRXLC!!!
