MT: Fly fishing hanging trip

Hi friends,

I'm considering a fly fishing trip to NW Montana (Missoula to Kalispell area) either August or September. Also considering the option of hanging on the trip rather than hotels. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated if it's possible to combine the two.

Tons of it available around Hungry Horse. Lots of free or dirt cheap campsites in all the national & state forests.
Hiking or floating? Back country hiking is free camping. Check out some trail web sites

There's a great hike from Seeley Lake into Glacier Park. About a 50 mile jog round trip. Fishing is major league.

I'll be interested to see what you pick. I'll be driving through Montana in September and spending a couple days in Choteau and maybe a day somewhere along 2 on the way to Kalispell. I'd like to spend much of it fishing before my hike in GNP.
