Embrace your gear throttle. She will save you from the depths. If you can't convince the woman who loves you that this latest doo-dad will make you happier then maybe reconsideration is in order. The notion that evasion and deceit might help is a red flag. Recognize your higher authority.

So here's the flow chart...
[Option A] Order more hammock stuff > goes undetected by wife = get to sleep in a hammock more often
[Option B] Order more hammock stuff > triggers wife's "hammock" alarm > wife gets upset about your "addiction" > throws you in the dog house > hammock already set up in dog house > get to sleep in hammock more often
Unless I'm missing something, I'm not sure there is a downside here.
