Hey guys do I need to seam seal a stock claytor tarp for claytor jungle hammock?
Good question I just purchased one.
Not in my limited experience and others with JH tarps don't do it until the second year as a form of maintenance. Usually the manufacturer will specify if the seams have not been sealed.
Been through a couple pretty heavy downpours and only horizontal rain gets to the hammock. No leaks so far.
Hope this helps..

I always treat a new tarp just so I know it will hold up. I did so with the three Claytors I own. I spray with a silicone sealant and it does a nice job of improving the waterproof abilities. For the seams, I simply hold the spray can real close and soak the seams thoroughly and that has been very effective.
Might have been ok without doing that, doing it is just another reason I sleep very soundly through a rainy night.
