Pad and WBBB Dbl layer hints

I have a buddy coming up to join me at a group hang this weekend, and someone is loaning me a WBBB for him to use. It is supposed to have a double layer. I don't have an extra UQ for him, but I'm taking along a military issue Thermarest... full length/standard width.
I've never had to use a pad in a gathered end hammock before, so I'm looking for some hints to help make sure he's comfortable. He's a n00b and completely oblivious, and I don't know whether my friend who's giving us the loaner knows anything about using it with pads.
I want my bud to have a good time, so that he'll be willing to go out hanging with me again, so I'd appreciate any thoughts and hints ya'll might have.

The main thing is to take the time to get the pad set up properly before going to sleep. You might want to help him with that. Whatever you do, don't adopt the "she'll be right" attitude or he'll be in for a miserable night's sleep.

Secondly, make sure you explain why it's so important to stay on the pad so that if he does move in the night he knows to get back onto the pad.

Also, depending on the temperature, you might want to get him to unzip his sleeping bag and use it like a top quilt. Just lying on the pad as bottom insulation should be okay in your summer, however moisture may be a problem if he's a sweater.

Having used a pad a couple times, I would also encourage you to be sure you don't quite fill the pad all the way. If you leave it slightly underfilled it will be easier to stay on it and it will be more comfortable.

Being new to Hanging means he knows nothing, everything is new.
    1. On the pad, if it has insulation, I do not inflate, that way he won't feel like he might roll off the pad.
    2. As mentioned above, make sure there is something between the body and pad to increases comfort.
    3. Be sure your guest knows and is able to enter and exit the hammock. Grabbing a hold of the UQ instead of the hammock is good for a fall.
4.Tell him not to wait to get up for the 2:00a.m. water the tree.
    5. Use extra care in making sure the hammock is secure.

I knew the underinflate part, and the temps will be the 60°s, so I think I can get him set up OK.

Only thing I don't know yet is whether the dbl-layer really keeps the pad from moving around under his a**...? That was the issue in a single-layer last year out on the lake... my other friend had the thing scrooshed all the way down into the foot of the hammy and poking up in the bugnet by dawn.

I put a closed-cell camping pad in my dbl-layer WBBB XLC a couple weeks ago for the first time. It was 95º during the day and went down to the 70's during the night. Very warm and sticky with the humidity so I knew I didn't want to use my 0º Wookie UQ (only one I have). It was easy to insert the pad and it stayed in place all night. I like to move around from back to left side/right side quite a bit and didn't experience any major issues other than sweating a lot. But the pad did its job when a cool breeze finally came ghosting after 3:00 a.m. However, I did order a two-season Wookie because I like the breathability of down and the ease of venting/removing as needed.

Drops of silicone caulk will help keep it in place
