With my 2mm glowire the bar tensioners will hold to roughly 130lbs before they cut/break the line. And with my 3mm glowire that number jumps up to over 300lbs. In both cases there is no slippage at all until the bar tensioner cuts/breaks the line. And up until line failure, they do not damage the line whatsoever. So they are pretty amazing in that regard. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks again,

I am trying some 3mm Glowire I just got from you with a UGQ tarp that has linelocs 3’s sewn on. It certainly seems to work, but it’s super grippy. I have to pull the tab up every time I want to adjust it. Which means I can’t tighten it one-handed like I see so many people doing. Is that normal? Would 2mm be better in the sense that it would be a little easier to work with?

Lawson has been banned, so you won't get a direct response.

But I would say stick with the 3mm if you like it and it works.

****. I enjoyed reading his posts.

This is the first time trying LL3’s, so I’m want to see how different cords perform in it. I went ahead and ordered some 2mm Glowire to get to the bottom of it. I do like it though. It’s seems like it will live up to all of Lawson’s bold claims.

I did too and I felt they were very informative in many ways regarding development of cordage and how they are marketed.

I've used Lawson's 2mm reflective cord with my line locks (standard on all Simply Light Design tarps) for a couple of years and have been very satisfied. One trick that I learned using the line locks is to tie a knot at the pulling/tightening end of the line. Makes it a lot simpler figuring out which end to attach to the stake. It also makes adjustments in the dark by feel super simple.

    Lineloc 3 cord diameter

It's not in keeping with the UL approach, but for LineLoc3's I add these little guys to the adjusting end of my Lawson reflective cord.

I'll take the 0.18g per tieout weight penalty for convenience!

    Lineloc 3 cord diameter

Gadget, your knot is fast, neat, easy to learn and remember, and nonslip too.

Do it with two ropes and you have a double (or triple) fisherman's knot,

    https://www.animatedknots.com/doublefishermans/
Curiously, it's called a knot, not a bend... such is the idiosyncsy of knotting nomclature.
    (a fisherman's bend is a different beast... and it's a hitch!! )

What does that say about fishermen?
