    Robens 3x3 tarp

    http://www.robens.de/en/Products/tents/trail/tarp-3x3-m

I've had this tarp for a year now. Haven't tested it too much, but been through hail, hard rain, big katabatic winds, and bush raves. No misting, water shakes off super easy. Quite happy so far.

Just wanted to add it to the collective consciousness as an option in Europe. It is heavy (1.15kg with stakes and extra guy lines all in the sack), but super strong, fire retardant, and 5000mm hydrostatic head.

Where I am in Croatia it is difficult to get good gear without spending a stupid amount importing. This was approximately 44€/$51USD at the only good outdoor store in 200km.

Pictures here high and dry at Luda Kuća. 650m elev. Under hail and thunderstorms for about two hours. HH asym tarp was damp. Robens was put away almost completely dry to the touch.

Yep, just adding thoughts since in my experience it is a pain to find gear that isn't really crap, or just double the cost. Hard to find local-ish accessible brands out in Eastern Europe that have any reviews (for example, only one mention of Robens on HF, about a sleeping bag). Lots of Italian, German, Czech, Austrian, Slovenian gear here.

Most of all the North American companies mentioned here are unreasonable to get in this region, especially with the low wages and currency. So yeah, just trying to open it up in this direction, in English. One of the things that I miss about living in Canada/USA is the access to a wide variety of outdoor type gear.
