US GI Intermediate Cold Weather Sleeping Bag

    It finally arrived.

    I wish I could give a glowing report/lengthy review, but, it's too small and/or I'm too big.

Details: I'm 6'-0"/230#, and I can barely get in the bag. Think shrink wrapped. There is no footbox, as such, and the insulation was compressed there, and on top of my head. Girth is adequate, barely, but it's no bag for a claustrophobe. This was with the bag rolled out on a bed...in a hammock, it is simply undoable...I tried, and couldn't get 'er done.

On the plus side, this bag, @ <$50, is a good value for smaller pepes. And I'm totally diggin' the center zip...I don't know why all SBs aren't built that way.

Hope this helps anyone contemplating buying these (ICW/ECW) bags.

Oh my goodness you're bringing back memories! I love the center zip too, I had no problems with the size (5'8", 156#), but they are definitely HEAVY! Try letting one get soaking wet one time, and it's just an ungodly thing to haul around.....

    Dawg,, I now whatcha mean,,
I ended up taking all the shoe strings out of my shoes,,,, learned how to use 2 sheets of toilet paper day, cut the tops off of my socks, leave the fruit a looms at home, use the moss on trees and the sun instead of carrying a compass, yep, cut the handle off the tooth brush,
ALL to save weight, and what a difference it made,,, while carrying that heavy thing from the gear trailer, to the hammock.

I'm kinda confused I'm 6'5"/240# and use the Issue MMS 4 piece sleep system, it is very roomy and has a very distinct foot box. It is possible that what you have is an aftermarket "MILSPEC" bag that is a chinese knockoff.

No, this is the bag that preceded your 4 piece system. It was discussed here:

Here's the link to the bag:
    http://wardenssupplyco.com/cart/inde...&products_id=9

It says 90"...there is no way this bag is 90" long. They may vary from contract to contract, and undoubtedly shrink when washed and dried.
