    continuous loops?

Question about continuous loops....why? On my cheaper hammock I ran a zip tie through the gathered end channel and pulled it closed then ran my whoopie sling directly around the gathered end via larks head knot, same with the ridge line, I then run the whoopie sling through the center of the zip tied hole to the rest of my suspension. Do continuous loops add any strength to suspension? I'm just wondering why one wouldn't just do a larks head knot around the gathered end rather than a continuous loop. It seems like the larks head loop is gathering more fabric. Anyways, input is always appreciated.

Persona preference and another option. There are lots of ways of doing it. And each is better to one person or another for various reasons. You can skip the zip tie and put the whoopie directly through the end channel, or as you did you can use a whoopie or a loop to do more of a whipped finish on the hammock ends. Some suspensions have additional hardware that makes the whoopie (or other parts) detachable from the loop so the whoopie and straps can be stored separately...say if they get wet from rain or sappy from the trees. But really it's all personal preferences on how everyone likes their own set up to work.

Thanks Pgibson! I just received my Chameleon last night and it comes with the continuous loops, I'll probably use those for now, but was wondering if I would do any damage by running the larks head directly on my hammock. Good to know it probably won't

You may want to check with Dutch on that. I am not familiar with how the ends are built and it may need to be set up one way over another.

imo the reason for continuous loops is so that you can easily remove wet suspension from the hammock and store it seperately

Also, you can hang between two trees that are really close together if you use straps, or even tree huggers. You can use them to hang tandem with different suspension types on each hammock (biners with Atlas straps, and whoopie hooks with whoopies) like my wife and I do.

Agree with above. CL make it easy to remove suspension and store separately from hammock. Also makes it easy to use one suspension on multiple hammocks if it is removable.
