Usually around mid January. Bic took care of it this year but I'm pretty sure he's no longer in, or on his way out of, the area. Maybe hillbillydeluxe will post something....

It gets posted as 3 days, but it can be whatever you can make of it. Not unusual for people to be there earlier in the week and stay into the next week. All depends upon individual schedules. If you're coming from Maine I'd stay active on the thread, when it comes up, to see who can spend more time out.

I'll subscribe to the thread and yes if I'm coming that far want to maximize my time in "the north piney woods..." The timing depends on when we have the NEHHA annual winter hang in January in MA.

The MN frozen butt might be hosted by Bic again as he is not leaving the area and I'll be hosting the 7th Annual WI Frozen Butt Hang again this year, Jan 12th-14th. The WI hang is generally the second weekend of January and the MN hang is usually the weekend after. Might have to just make both I have a new years Eve Hang each year as well. Might as well just take off weekends for the month

LAST year The Frozen Butt Hang was the week after WI's winter hang. The year before, at least, FBH was the second week in January as it usually is......

    Hey Everyone!

This summer has been insane! We were moving to NC and ultimately decided to stay put in MN and are closing on our new home here in just over a week! I'm more than happy to help plan this year's FBH! I'd like to not step on anyone's toes that would like to attend both the MN and the WI Frozen Butt Hangs.... so I suggest we vote between

    January 5-7 OR January 19-21

I've been talking with Hillbilly and we both agree that we need a new spot for the hang this year. We will be scouting and reporting back. For now, let's settle on a date. Once we have that, then I'll post a new planning thread with spreadsheet etc.

Additionally, I plan to host a Winter Newb Hang in early December on my property so that people that haven't winter camped, but are interested in trying it at the MN FBH can test their gear in a safe spot. We'll be in our woods, but not too far from a heated pole barn/house/cars if people need it.

I made a group specifically for the MN Frozen Butt Hang. Hoping it will help keep the info in one convenient spot as well as serve as a repository of past event info.
