Cool New here beginner at hammock-camping

    Hey everyone,

I am new here and just beginning hammock camping.

I have an ENO Double Nest. I slept in it last night on a stand inside. I noticed the hammock fabric would scrunch a little underneath me. I am not sure if it's too low, but I am certain ut will be different in a tree.

My bigges question is: what is the best option for camping? Getting a bug net and accessories seperste or a all in one hammock?

I have looked at the Nube & Stratos systems, Flying Tent, Cura Hybrid, Hennessey. I have also looked at some under quilts and pods. As well as top quilts. Does the top quilt act as your blankets?

    Thanks!

    Jo

Welcome to Hammock forums. I'd recommend checking out Shugs youTude channel as he reviews a lot of the "nicer" hammocks that many of us here use.

Probably depends on location. For me I started with a Integral bug net, moved to a lighter hammock with a Dutch Summer cover and recently I'm just laying in an open hammock (Freebird) and clothing treated with Permethrin. a spray of Picaridin for arms and head and I've had no issue. Now I've heard that you have bigger issues in Minn with skeeters.....

Shug being in minnesota with you should be almost required watching, everything he shows will be 100% applicable

I don't understand how anyone camps without a bug net, to be honest (except winter of course)

Thanks! Yes the skeeters here are quite annoying! This summer hasn't been too bad in the cities, I did spend a weekend in Stockholm, WI and those skeeters were crazy!
